Carmina Burana is a classical choral piece written by Carl Orff. The Pacific Northwest Ballet decided to design a ballet around this piece. The scene design was done by world-renowned designer Ming Cho Lee.

I welded up the aluminum tubes of the wheel and the all-aluminum choral riser that is suspended from overhead cables during the show.

When we were trying to estimate how much the chorus weighed we discovered that you will never get an accurate answer by asking people how much they weigh. We ended up having to weigh every member and add it up. The difference between how much they said they weighed and how much they really weighed was 2300 lbs for 85 people.
