This is a picture of the simple solution I found for a toolpost grinder for my atlas lathe.

I needed a solution for sharpening ironworker punch dies on my 10" Atlas lathe. By making a simple saddle bracket that traps the grinder head and some leveling screws, it is quite solid.

Obviously not as smooth as the real thing, but easily adequate for my needs. The 3/8" x 5" bar easily fits in my toolpost holder.

This only really works because I used a very high quality Flex variable speed right angle grinder, Model #1106VE, which is made in Germany.

The only modification to the grinder was that I rotated the motor body 90 degrees so the switch ends up on top.
