Before the Kingdome was imploded to make room for the new Seahawks stadium, I was on the rigging crew during the attempted roof renovation in the mid-90's.

The gantry pictured here on the top of the central cupola was built by me on-site to allow us to haul small loads 240 feet up through the center hatch.

The county supervisor on site was furious that we had anchored it to the roof without going through proper channels, but before he could do anything about it, the roofing crew had already sealed the base bolts under 6 inches of roofing foam, and vinyl sheeting, so it was permanent on the roof.

I was told the gantry survived the implosion, but I have never been able to find a photo of it.

The picture of me is in one of the roof spans between the ribs.

The picture of guys eating pie is only notable because we were on a coffee break on a 7th day Sunday with a turnaround penalty meaning.....QUAD-time.

I believe we were being paid around $128.00/hr to eat pie on the top on the dome.
